Michael Ryan Bower

   Michael Ryan Bower, 65, of Seagull Shores, Salter Path, NC, died Monday, December 27, 2021 in Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport.

   Mr. Bower was born in Portsmouth, VA on May 6, 1956, and was the son of the late Ronald E. and Anita Parker Bower.

   Employment included his time as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Methodist Retirement Homes in Durham, as a licensed security guard with the Pebble Beach Condominiums at Emerald Isle, and in sales at both Dollar General and Food Lion. A member of First Baptist Church Swansboro, he had formerly been a member and deacon at Englewood Baptist Church in Rocky Mount. Hobbies included gardening and his love of horticulture.

   Surviving is his sister, Melanie Bower of Nashville; a niece, Heather Carter of Nashville; a nephew, Justin Batchelor of Cary; two great-nieces, four great-nephews, two great-great-nephews; and other extended family members.

   A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Cool Spring Baptist Church Cemetery in Eure, and will be conducted by the Rev. Roger Kiker. Friends may visit with the family in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. when the procession leaves for the grave.
