Michael Steven Barber

Michael Steven Barber, 60, of 5367 Sir Barton Drive, died suddenly on Sunday, January 19, 2025, in his home.

Mike was born in Norfolk, Virginia on September 8, 1964, and was the son of the late Carl Nixon Barber and Maude Lee Corprew Barber. He was a supervisor in Field Maintenance at Norfolk International Airport where he had worked for nearly 30 years.

Surviving is his wife of 23 years, Kathryn Belanger-Barber; their children, Allison Barber of Norfolk, Lauren Burnette (her children, Julia, Arthur, and Henry) of King William, VA, Joshua Burnette of Concord, NC, and Mariah Ebeling (husband, Michael, and their daughter, Margot) of Spring Hill, FL. Also surviving is his sister, Jennifer Barber of Virginia Beach, and his brother, Kenneth Barber (wife, Patricia, and their children, Julian, Olivia, Emily, and Lili Rosas-Barber) of Williamsburg, VA.

Friends are invited to join the family for a time of sharing memories and healing hearts on Sunday, January 26th, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Room of Rocky Hock Baptist Church, 113 Rocky Hock Church Road, Edenton, NC 27932. A graveside memorial service will follow the gathering, beginning at 3:15 p.m. and will be held in the Nixon Family Cemetery, 1645 Rocky Hock Landing Road, Edenton. Pastor Trey Rogers will conduct the service.
