Mary Davies White

   Mary Christeen Davies White, 67, of 221 Goodwin Mill Road, Hertford, NC, died Friday, April 19, 2019, in her home.

   Born in Portsmouth, VA on February 4, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Art Lee and Shirley Jean Rose Davies. The owner and operator of both Wishing Well and Heritage House, she was a member of the Belvidere Ruritan Club, and enjoyed fellowship in both Whiteville Grove Baptist Church and Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Carson Anthony White, and by a brother, Arte Davies.

   Surviving are her husband of 30 years, William Carson White; a daughter, Angela Le’Don Dean and husband, Todd, of Chesapeake, VA; a sister, Debra Carter and husband, Robert, of Elizabeth City; and a granddaughter, Brianna Rose Dean.

   A memorial service will be held Friday, April 26, at 3:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, and will be conducted by the Rev. Lonnie Coker. Friends may join the family in the funeral home immediately following the service, and all other times at the residence. 

   In celebration of her zest and love of life, if able, the family request that the color red be added to one’s attire.
