Mary Cox Pierce

 Mary Cox Pierce, 77, of Edenton, NC, passed away Monday, November 18, 2024, in Chowan River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Edenton.

 Mrs. Pierce was born in Moore County on May 9, 1947, and was the daughter of the late Nelson Bruton and Ora Lee Lowdermilk Cox. A retired Licensed Practical Nurse, she was a member of Gatesville Baptist Church. Other enjoyments included her love of painting, yardwork and working in flowers, and line dancing.

 Surviving is her husband of 60 years, Bobby Maxwell Pierce; a daughter, Amy L. Pierce (husband, Dale) of Chocowinity; two sons, Gary L. Pierce (wife, Cindy) of Bunnlevel and Sidney Neilson “Neil” Pierce of Edenton; a sister, Billie Harrell (husband, Roy) of Gatesville; a brother, Terry Cox (wife, Nancy) of Murfreesboro; three grandchildren, Makayla and Lakelyn Cooke, and Bo Pierce; a great-grandson, Zimri Pierce; her canine companion, “Pee Wee”; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

 A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Gatesville Cemetery and will be conducted by the Rev. Merritt Taylor. Friends are invited to join the family at Billie and Roy’s home, 60 US Highway 158 Business West, Gatesville, immediately following the service.
