Mary Ellen Small Pierce

   Mary Ellen Small Pierce, 72, of 110 Tip Toe Road, Edenton, NC, died Sunday, September 13, 2020 in Vidant Chowan Hospital.

   Mrs. Pierce was born in Chowan County on June 30, 1948, and was the daughter of the late Thomas Small, Sr. and Mamie Chesson Small. A retired line supervisor with Seabrook Blanching Corp., she was a member of Countryside Church of Christ, the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post #40, and the Yeopim Ruritan Club.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Franklin “Frankie” Pierce, Sr.; and by her brother, Thomas Small, Jr.

   Surviving are two sons, Elbert F. “Frankie” Pierce, Jr. and wife, Tracy, of Elizabeth City, and Jeffery A. Pierce and wife, Traci, of Edenton; and four grandchildren, Jordan (John Long), Lexi, Joshua, and Alyssa.

   A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. in Beaver Hill Cemetery and will be conducted by Pastor Steve Mizell. Friends may visit with the family at the graveside following the service, or all other times at the residence.
