Mary Hawkins Barnes

   Mary Hawkins Barnes, 76, of Windsor, NC, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021 in Vidant Edgecombe Hospital, Tarboro.

   Mrs. Barnes was born in Bertie County on August 26, 1945, and was the daughter of the late Henry Leon and Mamie Ward Hawkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Brownard Barnes; a son, Thomas Leon Butler; a sister, Nancy Lee; and by brothers, Joseph, Luther, and Richard Hawkins. A welder, she had been employed with Harrington Manufacturing Company in Lewiston.

   Surviving is her son, Robert Butler of Williamston; three brothers, Walter Hawkins of Kinston, Jimmy Hawkins of Council Bluffs, IA, and Jerry Hawkins of Asheboro; and many numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

   In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held.
