Mary Ann Barton Wise

   Mary Ann Barton Wise, 78, of Snug Harbor Road, Hertford, NC, died Monday, June 20, 2022 in Currituck House, Moyock.

   Mrs. Wise was born in Virginia Beach, VA on December 19, 1943, and was the daughter of the late James, Sr. and Edithe Mae Davis Barton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Edward "Eddie" Wise, Jr., brothers, James Jr. and William "Billy" Barton, and by a step-daughter, Betty Jean Wise.

   After a long career in the Medical Records department at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, Mary Ann found her calling managing the Dog Day Care program at Owl’s Creek Pet Motel until she retired.

   Surviving are her three sons, Steve Donlan and his wife Kelli of Virginia Beach, Matt Donlan and his wife Ella of Las Vegas, NV, and Jeff Donlan and his wife Candice of Chicago, IL; and a step-son, Earl Wise, III and his wife Cheryl of Arnold, MD. Together Mary Ann and Eddie shared 11 grandchildren who brought them much joy.

   In keeping with her passionate love of animals, the family asks that in lieu of flowers any memorial contributions be made to one's local SPCA or Humane Society.
