Marvin Woodrow Carmine, Jr., 76, of Hertford, NC, passed away Friday, September 9, 2022 in Hertford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
Mr. Carmine was born in Pasquotank County on April 2, 1946, and was the son of the late Marvin Woodrow Carmine, Sr. and Bessie Doris Horner Carmine. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Ed Garrison.
Retired as a Sheet Metal Fabricator with Civil Service following 30 years of employment, he was a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ and faithful member of Fountain of Life Church. Other enjoyments included his love of fishing.
Surviving is his wife of 42 years, Ruby Watson Derrickson Carmine; seven children, Peggy Wisswell (Ron), Bobby Carmine, Linda Baker (Tommy), Charles Derrickson (Kim), Bruce Derrickson (Donna), Russell Derrickson (Holly), and Christine Harbin (Austin); a sister, Linda Garrison; a brother, David Carmine (Harriett); 11 grandchildren, Audrey Albertoni, Shane Albertoni, T.J. Baker, Ashley Robbins, Desiree Jeandell, Cathy Short, Rodney Derrickson, Sara Mammolita, Maci Biener, Hanna Derrickson, and Addy Harbin; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in Fountain of Life Church, Elizabeth City, and will be conducted by Pastor Hans Hess. Friends may visit with the family in the church immediately following the service. A private burial will be in New Hollywood Cemetery.
