Marty Bissell

   Arthur Martin “Marty” Bissell, Jr., 68, of 6145 Mackeys Road, Roper, NC, died Wednesday, April 5, 2023 in Robersonville as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

   Marty was born in Robeson County on February 9, 1955 and was the son of the late Arthur Martin Bissell, Sr. and Frances Bennett Ober.

   Past employments included his work as a boat captain, but his primary love in life was his work (or play) with the band, “Pegasus Plus” of which he was a longtime member. A talented guitarist, he could play most any instrument that he picked up or that was placed in front of him.

   Surviving is his daughter, Stephanie Renee Tanke of Flagstaff, AZ; his sister, Lisa Bissell of Greenville; his brother, David Ober of Jupiter, FL; and many extended family members and friends.

   A memorial tribute to his life is being planned and those arrangements will be updated to this obituary when finalized.
