Martin Elbert Trueblood, Jr.

   Martin Elbert Trueblood, Jr., 83, of Elizabeth City, NC, died Monday, September 20, 2021 in his home where he was being cared for by family.

   Mr. Trueblood was born in Pasquotank County on November 12, 1937, and was the son of late Martin Elbert Trueblood, Sr. and Lola Mae Hewitt Trueblood Barnard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Marie Allen Trueblood, a son, Terry Wayne Trueblood, a great-grandson, Corey, his step-father, Raymond Barnard; and by a half sister, Darleen.

   A retired project manager, he was employed with Halifax Engineers having worked on the water locks in the Intracoastal Waterway. In earlier years he was employed as an iron worker, and was a member of the Ironworker's Union Local 79 in Virginia.

   Surviving are his two sons, Martin Trueblood, III (Pam) and Timothy Trueblood, Sr. (Debby); a daughter, Bonnie Marie Strathearn (Gary); a sister, Wanda (Don); half sisters, Ann and Faye; a half brother, Raymond; eight grandchildren, Martin IV (Brooke), Kristen (Walt), Cristal (Gerald), Angel (Jhorviss), Timothy Jr. (Erica), Courtney (Dave), Matthew (Summer), and Codie (Sean); 15 great-grandchildren, Brett, Colby, Martin V, Ethan, Skye, Nathan, Makayla, Jionni, Lyle, Mariah, Kayson, Colton, Jordyn, Matthew, and Damien; lots of loving nieces and nephews including a very special niece, Angie (and her daughter, Lilly).

   In accordance with his wishes, no services are planned.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-3678.
