Margie Ward Wiggins Robertson, 97, formerly of Corapeake, NC, died peacefully Friday morning, March 21, 2025, at Lake Prince Woods, Suffolk, VA.
Mrs. Robertson was born in Hobbsville, NC on October 9, 1927, and was one of eight children born to the late John Nurney and Hattie Ward Wiggins.
A homemaker, she was the beloved wife of Thomas Robertson for 55 years until his death in 1999. She was a faithful member of Eureka Baptist Church and loved her Lord and church family, especially her Sunday School class, the WMU group, and the choir she attended, taught, or served over many years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, friend and neighbor, and enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens, quilting, crocheting, and reading. Many will remember Margie for her “greeting card” ministry, sending hundreds of cards to share messages of celebration, sorrow, “get well soon”, or just caring thoughts.
Surviving are her four children, Brenda R. Harmon and husband, Mac, of Suffolk, Thomas W. Robertson and wife, Annette, of Charlotte, Dennis Robertson and wife, Macey, of Suffolk, and Debi Robertson of Greenville; 12 grandchildren, Sheila Rawls, Scott Fisher, Susan Milliken, Christy Richards, Wendy Bastian, Buddy Fisher, Baron Robertson, Marcus Robertson, Jennie Robertson, Regan Lee, Jordan Lee, and Keaton Lee; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister Shirley Layden, husband, Wesley, Sr., of Hobbsville; and many other extended members of both the Wiggins and Robertson families.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 24th, at 2:00 p.m. in Eureka Baptist Church and will be conducted by Pastor David Lawson and former pastor, Cameron Currin. A private burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends are invited to join the family in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Eureka Baptist Church, P.O. Box 68, Corapeake, NC 27926.
