Margie Stallings Monds

   Margie Hortense Stallings Monds, 86, of 798 Acorn Hill Road, Hobbsville, NC, died Tuesday, December 31, 2019, in Accordius Health & Rehabilitation, Gatesville.

   Mrs. Monds was born in Gates County on December 27, 1933, and was the daughter of the late Kemrial Rudolph Stallings, Sr. and Minnie Belle Ralph Stallings. Retired from George C. Moore Company after 35 years of employment, she later worked at the Sunbury Recycling Center. She was raised in the fellowship of Sandy Cross Baptist Church.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Edgar Monds; by sisters, Virginia Manseau, Justine Persons, and Pauline Winslow; by brothers, James Robert “Jim” Stallings and K.R. “Pete” Stallings, Jr.; and by two grandchildren.

   Surviving are two daughters, Linda DuBois of Hobbsville, and Marcia Parker and husband, Carlton, of Franklin, VA; a son, Michael E. Monds and wife, Marie, of Kill Devil Hills; a sister, Frances Walke of Portsmouth, VA; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

   A private service will be held by the family.
