Margie Nannette Williams Eason, 76, of 1367 Turnpike Road, Elizabeth City, NC, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023 in her home where she was being cared for by family.
Mrs. Eason was born in Pasquotank County on January 4, 1947, and was the daughter of the late Wallace Butler, Sr. and Hazel Marie Bembridge Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Ann Curles (Gordon, deceased).
A retired cosmetologist, for many years she also enjoyed operating her business, Glory Productions, making crafts and attending local craft shows. In particular, the Christmas season was her favorite and she enjoyed participating in Holly Days where she got to show off her crafts. An avid reader, she loved her family outings and cherished the times spent with family, and especially enjoyed the beach where she treasured the moments of relaxation and just taking in the sounds of the ocean waves. An active member of her community, she attended Ramoth Gilead Baptist Church, and was proud to have served as the chief judge of the Newland Precinct of the Pasquotank County Board of Elections for over three decades.
Surviving is her husband of nearly 60 years, Earl Edward Eason, Sr.; a daughter, Anna Eason; a son, Earl Eason, Jr. (Niki); three grandchildren, Cody Colson (Abi), Cassidy Colson, and Hunter Eason; two great-grandchildren, Cora and Craftin Colson; a sister, Brenda Faye Williams Smithson; a brother, Wallace “Buddy” Williams, Jr. (Eva); and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A celebration of her life will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in Ramoth Gilead Baptist Church, Elizabeth City. Friends may join the family at Cody and Abi’s home, 1359 Turnpike Road, Elizabeth City.
