Margaret White King

   Margaret Elizabeth White King, 68, of 2833 Rocky Hock Road, Edenton, NC, died Saturday, June 4, 2022, in ECU Health, Greenville.

   Margaret was born in Dallas, Texas on January 20, 1954, and was the daughter of the late Earl L. and Mary Ann Lile White.

   A graduate of Indian River High School in Chesapeake, VA, she had worked in different fields of employment through the years but her favorite was that of being a homemaker and mother. She absolutely loved being a grandmother, supporting and joining her grandkids at their sporting events, school activities, and just being present in all they did. Margaret enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was at the mountains or the beach, or just being outside with her dogs, Toto and Pep.

   She was a member of Faith Pentecostal Holiness Church where she taught and was active in both the Children’s and Women’s ministries. She loved her church and her church family!

   Surviving are her children, Michael Shannon Floyd (wife, Jennifer) of Moyock and Melinda Ann Floyd of Hertford; two sisters, Earline Surratt and Teresa Bunch, and a brother, Stephen White, all of Edenton. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Madison Floyd, Alanah Murphy, Don Juan Murphy and Jalen Blanchard; and two great-grandchildren, Autumn and Ashton Harvey.

   A service in celebration of her life will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in Faith Pentecostal Holiness Church and will be conducted by her pastor, The Reverend Danny Gurganus. Friends are invited to speak with the family in the vestibule of the church immediately following the service.

   Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1614 Virginia Road, Edenton, NC 27932, where they will be used in the Children’s and Women’s ministries.
