Lynda Kay Elliott Hendricks, 74, of 319 West Queen Street, Edenton, NC, died Saturday, February 5, 2022 in her home.
Mrs. Hendricks was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia on September 17, 1947, and was the daughter of the late Jesse Lee and Betty Kay Smith Scarboro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Perkins Hendricks, Sr., and by her son, Ron Hendricks.
For nearly 34 years Mrs. Hendricks was employed by Chowan County and retired as its Tax Administrator. She was a member of Edenton Baptist Church.
Surviving is her son, Brad Hendricks (wife, Lynn) of Snow Hill; her daughter-in-law, Becky Evans Hendricks of Raleigh; five grandchildren, Evan, Dylan, and Jeremy Hendricks, Alexander Edwards (wife, Allison) and Katie Hendricks; and a great-grandson, Walker Edwards.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in Edenton Baptist Church and will be conducted by her pastor, The Reverend David Brooks. The burial will be private in Historic Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh. Friends may visit with the family in the social hall of the church immediately following the service.
