Louise Chappell Byrum

   Louise Chappell Byrum, 82, of 1340 Belvidere Road, Belvidere, NC, passed away Monday, June 10, 2024 in Chowan River Nursing and Rehabilitation, Edenton.

   Mrs. Byrum was born in Perquimans County on August 30, 1941, and was the daughter of the late Clarence Caleb, Sr. and Clara Jane Hunter Chappell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Wayland Byrum, Jr., a daughter, Carol Denise Byrum; brother, Clarence Chappell, Jr., and by two nephews, Clarence Chappell, III and Carmen Chappell.

   A homemaker, she was a member of Piney Woods Friends Meeting.

   Surviving are her nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

   Graveside services will be held Thursday at 3:00 p.m. in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery and will be conducted by Pastor Jeremy Pugh. Friends may visit with the family at the gravesite immediately following the service.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Piney Woods Friends Meeting, in care of Johnny Winslow, 949 Belvidere Road, Belvidere, NC 27919.
