Loretta Ann Ward Stallings, 84, of 919 Sandy Cross Road, Hobbsville, NC, died Saturday, October 10, 2020 at her daughter’s home where she was cared for by her family.
Mrs. Stallings was born in Perquimans County on October 18, 1935, and was one of three daughters born to the late Thomas David and Mattie Twine Ward. A homemaker, she had formerly worked at IXL in Elizabeth City and as a waitress at Hertford Café.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Asa Stallings; a son-in-law, Eddie Bright; and by her sisters, Della Fay Allen and Flora Hurdle.
Surviving are two daughters, Teresa Bright, and Betty Cartwright and husband, James, of Hobbsville; four sons, McCoy Stallings and wife, Linda, and Leonard Stallings, of Sunbury; and Johnny Stallings and wife, Belinda, and Stevie Stallings and wife, Robin, of Hobbsville; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in the Stallings Family Cemetery on Fred Stallings Lane, and will be conducted by Pastor Gary Nistler. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, no formal visitation is planned, however, friends may visit with the family at Teresa’s home, 917 Sandy Cross Road, Hobbsville.
