Lloyd Thomas Parrish

   Lloyd Thomas Parrish, 80, of 209 Emperor Landing Road, Edenton, NC, died Wednesday, December 22, 2021 in his home where he was being cared for by family.

   Mr. Parrish was born in Chowan County on November 14, 1941, and was the son of the late Andrew Augustus Parrish, Sr. and Myrtle Penelope Smith Parrish. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Bass and Alice Jones, and by brothers, Andrew Jr. and Joe Parrish.

   Employed as a parts manager with Feyer Ford, formerly Albemarle Motor Company, for many years, he retired as a Command Sergeant Major with the North Carolina National Guard following 40 years of service. A member and deacon of Macedonia Baptist Church, he was a former past president with Advance Ruritan Club. Other membership included the Edward G. Bond Post 40 of the American Legion.

    Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Betty Bazemore Parrish; two daughters, Sandra Parrish Hunt (husband, Andy) of Raleigh and Karen Parrish Huey (husband, Phil) of Edenton; a brother, Calvin Parrish (wife, Glenda) of Edenton; and five grandchildren, Thomas Andrew and Sarah Hunt, and Emily, Anna Grace, and Elizabeth Huey.

   Graveside services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Beaver Hill Cemetery, and will be conducted by the Revs. Chris Gravning and Bob Young. Full military honors will be accorded by the NC National Guard. Friends may visit with the family at the gravesite immediately following the service on Friday.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church, 1004 Macedonia Road, Edenton, NC 27932.
