Lillian Hendren Winslow

   Lillian Hendren Winslow, 102, of 973 Belvidere Road, Belvidere, NC, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018, in her home.

   Mrs. Winslow was born in Perquimans County on July 22, 1916, and was the daughter of the late John R. and Olive Smith Hendren. A homemaker and farmer's wife, she was a faithful member of Piney Woods Friends Meeting where she was a former Sunday School teacher, a member of the Bertha White Missionary Circle, and had served as Clerk for both the Monthly Meeting and of the Ministry and Council. Other enjoyments included her membership in the Belvidere Home Demonstration Club.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Oliver Winslow; sisters, Irene Butt and Mattie Winslow; brothers, Robert and Kenneth Hendren; and by a great-grandson, J.R. Winslow.

   Surviving are her daughter, Judith W. Riddick (McKay) of Belvidere; two sons, John R. Winslow (Becky) of Belvidere, and Oliver Wayne Winslow (Ann) of Hertford; seven grandchildren, Darlene Winslow (Mike), Sharon Lane (Bobby), Jason Riddick (Joni), John Winslow (Brenda), Chad Winslow (Lisa), Belinda Jackson (Troy), and Donna Haskett (Cliff); 14 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

   Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in Piney Woods Friends Meeting, and will be conducted by Pastors Jeremy Pugh and Frank Carter. A private burial will follow in the Up River Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the Piney Woods social hall immediately following the service, and all other times at the residence.
