Lewis Wilton "Buzz" Peoples

   Lewis Wilton “Buzz” Peoples, 80, of 112 Chatooga Court East, Hertford, NC, went to his heavenly home Sunday, August 2, 2020 from his earthly home in Hertford.

   Mr. Peoples was born in Garland, NC on June 15, 1940 and was the son of the late Milton and Fannie Mae Carter Peoples. A retired Regional Manager with the Lance Corporation of Charlotte, he was a member of Corinth Baptist Church, Ruritan International, had served in the Army during the Vietnam War, and was an avid golfer.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly Morgan Peoples; and brothers, Joe Neil Peoples and Larry Dwight Peoples.

   Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Mary Trainham Peoples; his son, Tracy L. Peoples and partner, Myles Roberts; his step-daughter, Stephanie A. Perryman and husband, Adam; his step-son, John S. Branch and wife, Lindi Wang; and his granddaughter, Arley Shay Perryman.

   A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 8, at 11:00 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 3920 Airline Blvd., Chesapeake, VA 23321, and will be conducted by the Rev. Farren Roper.

   The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Louise Brickhouse and her staff as well as the staff of Albemarle Home Care and Hospice for all the support and care provided during their time of need.

   In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to either the Alzheimer's Association, (www.alz.org) or to Corinth Baptist Church, 1035 US Highway 17 South, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
