Leroy Timothy Jenkins

   Leroy Timothy Jenkins, 83, of Hertford, NC, passed away Monday, January 22, 2024 in Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation.

   Mr. Jenkins was born in Greene County, TN on May 22, 1940, and was the son of the late Robert William, Sr. and Bonnie Evelyn Malone Jenkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Russell and by a brother, Robert Jenkins.

   A graduate of Oak Ridge High School in Oak Ridge, TN, he was a retired small engine mechanic. Memberships enjoyed included Greeneville Masonic Lodge #3 in Greeneville, TN where he had served as its Past Master and the Order of The Eastern Star (Mary Blount) in Maryville, TN where he had served as Past Patron. He was a proud veteran of the US Air Force.

   Surviving is his wife of 41 years, Clara Mae Cavender Jenkins; a son, Robert Walter “Bobby” Jenkins (wife, Karen) of Edenton; a daughter, Diana Miller (husband, Scott) of Fountain Inn, SC; two granddaughters, Sharon Lapp (husband, Stephen) and Anna Powell (husband, Jeremy); and four great-grandchildren, Jazmyn, Jaxon, Sophia, and Carter.

   In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held.
