Lee Brabble

   Vernon Lee Brabble, 74, of 746 Pender Road, Hertford, NC, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022 in his home.

   Mr. Brabble was born in Chowan County on December 29, 1947, and was the son of the late Wilma Vernon and Madge Long Brabble. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Ann Meads Brabble, and by a brother-in-law, J.D. Hollowell, Jr.

   An automotive service manager, for many years he had worked with Biggs Cadillac, Buick and GMC and later retired from Edenton Motors where he had been employed for a total of 15 years.  A member of Bethel Baptist Church, other involvement included service with the Bethel Vol. Fire Department.

   Surviving is his son, William Matthew Brabble (wife, Wendy); three grandchildren, Tori, Brianna and Austin, all of Elizabeth City; a sister, Varina Hollowell of Hertford; a special friend, Nola Tedford of Mississippi; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

   A gathering for friends to join and visit with the family will be held Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford.

   The family asks that flowers be omitted and contributions be made to the Jim "Catfish" Hunter ALS Foundation, PO Box 47, Hertford, NC 27944.
