Laura Rose Propson Garretson

   Laura Rose Propson Garretson, 38, of 156 Carters Road, Gatesville, NC, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019, in her home where she was being comforted by her family.

   Laura was born in Allentown, PA on December 29, 1980, and was the daughter of Philip E. Propson of Marshall’s Creek, PA, and the late Jane Richards Propson. A graduate of the University of Valley Forge, she received her Bachelors in Theology, with minors in Music and Early Childhood Education. In earlier years, she had worked as a Nanny, and later with Rodale Institute, pioneers in organic farming. Then her life’s calling came as a fulltime wife and mother. A faithful member of Upper Room Assembly in Gatesville, she served as the Director of the Girl’s Program and as a Youth Leader. Another area of service was with her husband as a 4-H Archery Instructor.

   Surviving in addition to her father, is her husband of 11 years, Robert Phillip “Rob” Garretson, and their children, Benjamin Phillip (age 10), Levi Matthew (age 8), Gweneth Grace (age 6), and Juda Titus (age 10 months); her sister, Elizabeth Dubs of Bath, PA; and her brother, Daniel Propson of Wellford, SC.

   A funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in Upper Room Assembly and will be conducted by Pastor Eric Earhart and the Rev. Dr. Wallace Phillips. Friends may join the family Saturday from 6 to 7 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, and other times at the residence.
