Larry Kenneth Melvin, 71, of Camden, NC, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021 in his home.
Mr. Melvin was born in Carteret County on January 16, 1950, and was the son of the late Edward James Melvin, Jr. and Agnes Louise Pipkin Melvin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Wheeler, and by a brother, Steve Melvin. A retired maintenance manager and electrician from Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, enjoyments in his life included his love of watching tractor pulls and drag racing.
Surviving are his two daughters, Tammy Jones (husband, Brett) of Elizabeth City and Lisa Gibbs (husband, Robert) of South Mills; three sisters, Pat Eatmon of Oak Island, Debbie McDowell of Leland, and Jerri Bradshaw of Goldsboro; a brother, Edward Melvin of Goldsboro; six grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Heather, Amber, Ashleigh, Robbie, and Bradley; and seven great-grandchildren, Bentley, Tanner, Nova, Camden, Liam, Serenity, and Carson.
A celebration of his life for family and friends will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Northeastern NC, 102 Enterprise Drive, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
