Kristi Leanne Brower Dalby, 47, of Mill Creek Road, Edenton, NC, died Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at her home in Fuquay-Varina.
Kristi was born in Chowan County on March 24, 1976, and was the daughter of Gary A. and Sherry Williams Brower of Edenton.
A Registered Nurse, she worked at Chowan Hospital for 18 years until becoming disabled. She was a member of Open Door Church and through her faith faced her illness with strength and the hope of being healed, and now she is. The family remembers her love of all of God’s creatures and the beauty of the world He created. Always there to rescue and care for stray and lost animals, and ready with a suitcase packed to travel and see the world, especially with Curt following Kenny Chesney or going to NASCAR races, her all too short life was made full with these adventures.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 13 years, Curtis W. “Curt” Dalby; their children, Megan Elizabeth Gainey, and Christopher Dylan Gainey; and her brother, J.B. Brower (wife, Kim, and their children, Lilly, Sadie, and Harris), all of Edenton. Also surviving are Curt’s family, mother, Martha Hall of Raleigh, and brother, Scott Dalby (wife, Ali, and their children, Katlyn, Allan, and Jon) of Clayton; and many, many, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 16th, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by her uncle, The Rev. Gary Williams, and by her pastor, The Rev. Steve Mizell. Friends are invited to visit with the family in the funeral home the hour prior to service, and all other times at the home of her parents, 451 Chambers Ferry Road, Edenton.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Tri-County Animal Shelter, 138 Icaria Road, Tyner, NC 27980.
