Kenneth Rountree “Kenny” Stallings, Jr., 67, of 1090 Perry’s Bridge Road, Belvidere, NC, died Thursday, April 6, 2023 in his home.
Kenny was born in Chowan County on February 12, 1956 and was the son of the late Rountree and Ruby Lee Riddick Stallings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Stallings.
In earlier years Kenny had worked with Ward & Son, Inc., later as an Inspector with the Meat & Poultry Division of the NC Department of Agriculture, with Leon Nixon’s Catering in Edenton, and lastly with his son in the operation of Stallings Farms Trucking. He was raised in the fellowship of Sandy Cross Baptist Church.
Surviving is his wife of 25 years, Debbie Weiss Holmes; his children, Kimberly Stallings Williamson (Jason) and Michael Lee Stallings (Abby), both of Hertford; Debbie’s children, Blake Holmes (Jennifer) and Rachel Byrum (Butch), both of Edenton, and Sarah West (Jason) of Greensboro; nine grandchildren, Hailee Williamson, Mallorie Stallings, Kyler Holmes, Whitney Prunka (Michael), Mitch, Lake, and Benson Byrum, and Eliza and Alex West; and a great-grandson, Teddy Prunka. Also surviving is his sister, Phyllis S. Kirkland (Claude) of Belvidere; his brother, Arden Stallings (Cindy) of Corapeake; members of the Weiss family, especially his neighbor and brother-in-law, Dan Weiss, who has been so faithful and attentive to Kenny and Debbie during these last days of declining health; and his faithful canine companion and best friend, Charlie.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, by the Rev. Buck Leary. Friends may visit with the family at the residence.
