Kenneth Wayne Griffin, 68, formerly of Shannonhouse Road, Edenton, NC, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, February 11, 2021 in WakeMed Hospital, Raleigh, following complications from two valiant battles with Covid-19 and other health issues.
“Kenny”, as he was known by his family and friends, had a generous heart and lived a simple and quiet life. Mr. Griffin was born in Sanford, NC on July 30, 1952 and was the son of Pauline Holcomb Griffin and the late S.D. Griffin, Jr. He was also preceded in death by a younger brother, David Glenn Griffin.
In addition to his devoted mother, he is survived by his two “little” sisters, Karen Ann Griffin of Edenton and Suzanne Griffin Parker and husband, Frank, of Knightdale; his brother and best friend, Joseph Paul Griffin of Raleigh; two awesome nephews, Lin and Griff Parker; two precious nieces, Kristi and Kati Griffin; other family, caregivers and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by his pastor, The Rev. David Brooks of Edenton Baptist Church. A private burial will follow in the Windley Family Cemetery in Plymouth. The family will receive friends at the funeral home the hour prior to services on Saturday. Those attending are asked to wear masks, and social distancing measures will be recognized.
