Kay Heath Barnacascel, 82, of Windsor, NC, passed away January 19th, 2023.
Kay was born on September 8, 1940 in New Bern, NC. She was the daughter of the late John T. Heath, Sr. and Mildred Dare Hardison Duncan. Kay attended East Carolina College and graduated in 1962 with a degree in education. She was passionate about teaching people to read and loved to play the piano. She was a long-time member of Lawrence Baptist Church, where she played the piano on Sundays and volunteered at Vacation Bible School.
She is survived by her spouse of 60 years, William R. Barnacascel, Sr. and their 3 children, William R. “Reggie” Barnacascel, Jr. (Betsy Wilbourne Barnacascel), Susan Hilbert, and Betsy Pittman (William G. Pittman, III). She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren, Heath (Shannon), Coleman, and Leyton Barnacascel, Allison and Aidan Pittman, Avery, Cooper and Lizzie Hilbert, and her great-granddaughter Haisley Barnacascel who all remember her affectionately as “Goongay”.
The family will be receiving friends and loved ones at 11:30, Monday January 23rd at Lawrence Baptist Church fellowship hall (1043 Cooper Hill Rd., Windsor, NC) followed by a celebration of life service at 1:00 in the sanctuary.
