Karla Johnson Gurganus

   Karla Johnson Gurganus, 58, of 151 Barfield Road, Eure, NC, died Tuesday, October 3, 2023 in her home.

   Karla was born in Portsmouth, VA on September 27, 1965 and was the daughter of the late Carl Roy, Sr. and Mary Rakestraw Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Carl Roy Johnson, Jr.

   Employed as the lead sales representative with Aireco where she handled Manitowoc commercial ice makers, her hobbies included hunting and fishing and capturing black bear and other wildlife in photography.

   Surviving is her husband and best friend, James Ronald “Ronnie” Gurganus; his children, Amber Lynn Gurganus (Bill) of South Bend, IN and Chad Ryan Gurganus (Taylor) of Hertford, and their families. Karla is also survived by many family and friends…to know her was to love her.

   Friends are invited to join the family for a time to celebrate her life on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the Hall Ruritan Club, 99 Tinkham Road, Eure.
