Judy Linville Byrum

   Judy Carol Linville Byrum, 80, of Wesley Chapel, FL, and formerly of Hertford, NC, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024 in Rucki Hospice Care Center, Zephyrhills, FL.

   Mrs. Byrum was born in Amarillo, TX on August 21, 1943, and was the daughter of the late George and Aletha Trent Linville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge Byrum, a sister, Janice, a brother, George, and by her canine companion, Rylee.

   Retired as a bank teller having been employed in earlier years in Alabama and then with Peoples Bank in Hertford, she had many enjoyments which included shopping in both thrift and dollar stores, and collecting a variety keepsake items through the years.

   Surviving is her son, Gene R. Appleton, Jr. (Penny) of Wesley Chapel, FL; a daughter, Jennifer Appleton “Jenny” Harris (Miles) of Elizabeth City, NC; two sisters, Jean Weems of Lakewood, CO and Joy Cassebaum of Alberta, AL; two grandchildren, Marissa Kimbrough (Mark) and Jordan Appleton (Hannah), both of Tampa, FL; a great-granddaughter whom she dearly loved, Ever Rose Appleton; many nieces and nephews; and her feline companion, Rosie.

   A graveside memorial service will be held Monday, April 22, at 11:00 a.m. in Cedarwood Cemetery, Hertford, and will be conducted by Pastor Arthur Manigault.
