Joyce Clements Williams

   Joyce Clements Williams, 75, of 3010 Rocky Hock Road, Edenton, NC, died Sunday, April 14, 2024, in her home.

   Mrs. Williams was born in Lenoir County on November 27, 1948, and was the daughter of the late William S. and Jewell King Clements. Many will remember Joyce when she worked at Boswell’s Market at Small’s Crossroads, or as she worshipped at Faith Pentecostal Holiness Church or Open Door Church (Bertie campus), but the family will remember her as a faithful wife, loving mother and grandmother, and caring sister. She was a caregiver to many, and everyone who knew her knew how much she loved her family, especially her boys!

   Surviving is her husband of 52 years, James Robert “Bobby” Williams; four sons, Sammy Williams of Hickory, Anthony Williams (wife, Shannon) of Sanford, Ryan Williams of Edenton, and Jimmy Williams (wife, Linnie) of China Grove; two sisters, Connie Copeland and Carolyn Wilson, both of Edenton; two grandchildren, Charli Grace Williams and Austin Robert Williams; several step-grandchildren; and her faithful canine fur baby, “Little Bit”.

   Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by The Rev. Danny Gurganus. A private burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home immediately following the service or all other times at the residence.
