Joyce Ann Perry

   Joyce Ann Perry, 87, of Corapeake, NC, died Thursday, January 11, 2024 in Nansemond Pointe Health & Rehabilitation Center, Suffolk, VA.

   Mrs. Perry was born in Gates County on November 5, 1936, and was the daughter of the late L. Glenn and Emma Jean Evans Perry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Perry; a daughter, Brenda Perry; a son, Kenny Hale; three grandchildren; a sister and a brother.

   Many will remember her as the owner and operator of Joyce’s Beauty Salon in Roduco. She was raised in the faith of Cool Spring Baptist Church but after moving to Ahoskie several years ago, she and John worshipped at Liberty Free Will Baptist Church.

   Surviving is her son, Mark Perry (wife, Rhonda), and her daughter, Kimberly Cooper Hardee, both of Corapeake; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many cousins and extended family members.

   Funeral services will be held Monday, January 15th, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, and will be conducted by the Rev. Burt Pearce. Burial will follow in Cool Spring Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home the hour prior to services, after the service in the fellowship hall at Cool Spring, or all other times at Mark and Rhonda’s home, 1096 NC North, Corapeake.
