Joyce Shellito Jorgensen

   Joyce Elaine Shellito Jorgensen, 80, of 1215 Blackfoot Trail, Edenton, NC, died Monday, July 29, 2019, in her home.

   Mrs. Jorgensen was born in East Lansing, Michigan on June 12, 1939, and was the daughter of the late Arthur Clarence and Lillian Commins Shellito. A “people person”, she had worked as a real estate agent and waitressed in several restaurants.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jorgen Harald Jorgensen.

   Surviving are two daughters, Christine Rusbuldt of Edenton, Tracie Perry of Lansing, MI; five sons, William Milo David and James David, both of Spotsylvania, VA, Timothy David and John DeLavern, both of Lansing, MI, and Joseph DeLavern of Mineral, VA; a brother, Robert Shellito of Whaleyville, VA; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

   A “Living Wake” was held prior to her death, where all her children and grandchildren were able to visit, share memories, express their love, and say good-bye. That service, with her present, replaces her funeral, and no further services are planned.
