Joyce Monds Hobbs

   Joyce Ann Monds Hobbs, 65, of 513 Hobbsville Road, Hobbsville, NC, died Saturday, March 9, 2024, in Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City.

   Mrs. Hobbs was born in Hertford County on January 7, 1959, and was the daughter of the late Lloyd Edward and Maggie Lee Casper Monds.

   A member of Hobbsville Baptist Church, she will be remembered as a faithful wife, and loving mother and grandmother, who enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.

   Surviving is her husband of nearly 46 years, James Allen “Al” Hobbs; two sons, James Chadwick Hobbs (wife, Jennifer) and Matthew Lloyd Hobbs (wife, Whitney), all of Hobbsville; three sisters, Mary Davis of Courtland, VA, Pauline Legg of Eure, and Doris Marks of Durham; two brothers, Ray Monds of Tyner and David Monds of Hobbsville; three grandchildren, Colton, Mya, and Dylan Hobbs; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

   Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in Hobbsville Baptist Church and will be conducted by her pastor, The Rev. Tim Dannelly. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family in the social hall of the church immediately following the service or all other times at the residence.
