James M. “John” Tynch, 80, of Georgetown, SC, passed away Friday, March 1, 2019.
Mr. Tynch was born in Chowan County, NC on March 22, 1938, and was the son of the late James R. Tynch and the late Ada Brown Ingraham. A member of Calvary Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a trustee, he enjoyed spending time with his family, going to church, and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Miller Walker; five sisters, and a brother.
Surviving are six children, James M. Tynch, Jr. (Doris) of Edenton, NC, Johnny M. Tynch of Hertford, NC, Shirley Jane Madry (Mel) of Edenton, Reba T. Smith of Hertford, Becky Tynch of Florence, SC, Jamie T. Howell (Charlie) of Georgetown; ten grandchildren, April, Heather, Cody, Bradley, Lawson, Lee Lee, Maddi, Gracie, Kimmy and Malachi; two great grandchildren, Tyler and Lucas; a brother, Timmie Tynch (Karen) of Edenton; a sister in law, Charlene Tynch of Edenton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday in Georgetown. A local service will be held Wednesday, March 6, at 2:00 p.m. in Rocky Hock Baptist Church, and will be conducted by the Rev. Teddy Rabon. Burial will follow in the Tynch Family Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the home of April and David Perry, 107 Harris Landing Road, Edenton, beginning on Tuesday.
