John Arthur Lee

   John Arthur Lee, 80, of 200 Robin Lane, Edenton, NC, died Sunday, February 23, 2020, in Vidant Chowan Hospital.

   Mr. Lee was born in Chowan County on February 15, 1940, and was the son of the late Arthur Miller Lee and Ida Bell Spruill Lee. A retired supervisor with Newport News Shipbuilding & Drydock, he was a member of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church, and a Past Master and High Priest of Berkley Masonic Lodge No. 167 in Chesapeake, VA. He had served in the United States Marine Corps.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie Sharp Lee; sisters, Rose Mae Benton and Virginia Sue Lee; and brothers, Linwood Lee and Joe Lee.

   Surviving are his daughter, Judy Lee Bonk and husband, John, of Edenton; two sons, Raymond Lee of Rock Hill, SC and Curtis Lee and wife, Pam, of Camden; a sister, Janet Lee Chappelle of Elizabeth City; two grandchildren, Kenneth Baker and Stacie Lee; a great-granddaughter, Abby Baker; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

   Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by the Rev. Charlie Reber. A private burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens, Cedar Road, Chesapeake, VA. Friends may join the family Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
