John Edward "JEB" Bassett

John Edward "JEB" Bassett

   John Edward “Jeb” Bassett, 52, of 130 Bella Vista Drive, Edenton, NC, died Wednesday, July 15, 2020 in CarolinaEast Medical Center, New Bern.

   Jeb was born in Mobile, Alabama on November 4, 1967, and was the son of Earl Clarence Bassett, III and Rebecca Brigman Bassett of Edenton. The Senior Project Manager with Environmental Chemical Corporation, he had a long career in the construction industry, and was a licensed building contractor in both North Carolina and Virginia. He was a member of Edenton Baptist Church.

   In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lynn Cale Bassett; his daughter, Julianna Lanair Bassett; and his son, Jonathan Cale Bassett, all of Edenton. Also surviving are his sister, Cathy Smith of Edenton, and his brother, Tad Bassett and wife, Martha, of Raleigh.

   Friends are invited to join the family for a memorial service on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton. The service will be conducted by his pastor, The Rev. David Brooks. At all other times, the family is receiving friends at the residence.

   In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Building Fund of Edenton Baptist Church, 200 S. Granville Street, Edenton, NC 27932.
