Joe Thomas "Joey" Jones, Jr.

   Joe Thomas “Joey” Jones, Jr., 62, of Key West, FL, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023 in Miller County Hospital, Colquitt, GA.

   Born in Chowan County on July 25, 1961, Joey was the son of the late Joe Thomas Jones, Sr. and Ora Jean Sawyer Jones Bruce. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Phillip Jones. Joey attended Chowan High School and through the years had worked as a drywall contractor.

   Surviving is his sister, Terry Long (Tim); two brothers, Larry Jones (Virginia) and Dennis Jones; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

   A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, November 4, at 11:00 a.m. in Beaver Hill Cemetery, Edenton, and will be conducted by his nephew, T.J. Long. Friends may join the family at Larry and Virginia’s home, 110 Cotton Patch Lane, Edenton, immediately following the service.
