Joan Yvonne Hunter

   Joan Yvonne Hunter, 64, of 827 Beech Springs Road, died Friday, July 31, 2020 in her home.

   Joan was born on May 28, 1956 in Chowan County, and was the daughter of the late Abbott Marvin Hunter, Sr. and Naomi Lee Riddick Hunter. A graduate of Perquimans County High School, she was a retired Leisure Activity Specialist with the Dare County Parks & Recreation Department. She was a Baptist by faith.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Hunter.

   Surviving are two daughters, Casey Riddick of Hertford and Megan Pippins (J.P.) of Belvidere; two sons, Travis Riddick (Stephanie) of Eure and Kyle Riddick (Olivia) of Charlotte; a brother, Marvin Hunter (Helen) of Hertford; a sister-in-law, Sherry Hunter of Manteo; seven grandchildren, Hannah, Savannah, Brayden, Kamryn, Caysen, Finleigh, and Rowan; three nephews, Wayne, Ryan, and John; a niece, Holly; and other extended family members and friends.

    A memorial service will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, and will be conducted by the Rev. Howard Sutton. Friends may join the family at Marvin and Helen's home, 341 Lake Road, Hertford.
