Joan Lee Bruce

 Joan Lee Bruce, 70, of 136 Red Maple Avenue, Hertford, NC, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024, in her home.

 Ms. Bruce was born in Norfolk, VA on March 7, 1954, and was the daughter of the late Richard Eugene and Peggy Geraldine Davis Bruce. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joy Bruce.

 A retired elementary school teacher, she often spoke of how much she enjoyed helping children and having a part in the lives of her students. An avid animal lover, she especially had a special place in her heart for cats.

 Surviving is her fiancé, Kenneth Harper of Hertford; and other extended family members and friends.

 In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held.
