Jimmy Ray Roberts

   Jimmy Ray Roberts, 76, of 1451 NC 37 North, Gates, NC, died Friday, November 23, 2018, in Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk, VA.

   Mr. Roberts was born in Chesapeake, VA on February 11, 1942, and was the son of the late Zenas Post, Jr. and Elsie Roberta Louvett Roberts.  A retired sheet metal mechanic, he was an Army veteran.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Koon Roberts; a grandson, Liam Koon; a sister, Joetta Roberts Styron; and by a brother, Benjamin Roberts.

   Surviving are his son, Allen Koon and wife, Christa, of Gates; a sister, Katherine Roberts "Kay" Martin; a brother, Zenas Post Roberts, III and wife, Joan, all of Chesapeake; and six grandchildren, Preston, Gavin, Lianna, Avery, Erin, and Kendall.

   A private service will be held.  Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
