Jimmy Wayne Tarkington

   Jimmy Wayne Tarkington, 64, of Long Ridge Road, Plymouth, NC, died Friday, September 22, 2023 in ECU Medical Center, Greenville.

   Jimmy was born in Chowan County on May 30, 1959 and was the son of the late Paul Alton and Frances Harrell Tarkington. He was a graduate of Creswell High School in the class of 1977. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Marshia Stevenson and Pat Williams, and by brothers, James Alton, and Donnie Frank Tarkington.

   Formerly employed with the poultry division of Tyson Foods, he was a member of Roper Baptist Church.

   Surviving are four sisters, Bettie Forbes of Sanford, Vickie Ange and Lena Davenport, both of Plymouth, and Norma Phillips of Roper; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

   A private graveside service is planned by the family where he will be buried with his parents.
