Jimmie Moore “Jim” Parrish, III

March 10, 1977 - March 25, 2025

Edenton, NC---

The world lost a bright light far too soon with the passing of Jimmie “Jim” Moore Parrish III, on Tuesday, March 25th, 2025, at the age of 48. A devoted father, husband, brother, son, uncle, and friend, he left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.

A true pillar of the community, Jim led with kindness and action. Whether coaching a team, volunteering his time, or simply lending a hand, his generosity knew no limits. No matter the need - big or small - Jim was always the first to raise his hand and volunteer. He never hesitated to lend his time, his energy, and his expertise to make the community a better place for all. A partner in the family farming operation, J.M. Parrish & Son, Inc., Jim was a member of Edenton Baptist Church, the North Carolina Farm Bureau Board of Trustees, the Chowan Investment Club, Ducks Unlimited, and a proud member of the Edenton Aces Football Dads Club

Jim possessed a competitive spirit with a heart full of kindness. A true athlete through and through, he gave his all on many ball fields throughout his playing years. Jim’s greatest joys came later in life as he cheered from the sidelines for his children. Nothing made him prouder than watching Jimbo and Emma chase their own dreams. He’s their biggest fan, on and off the field.

Jim was truly one of a kind, a legend. A man who never knew a stranger, only friends he had not yet met. With a heart as big as his smile and a spirit that could light up the Governor’s Pub, he made everyone feel seen and known. He treasured time with his friends at the poker table and around the fire pit. Whether through his witty banter or the simple way he could turn an ordinary moment relaxing at Tortuga’s into something unforgettable, Jim left an impact that will never fade.

He is survived by his best friend and loving wife, Chrystal Hare Parrish, their two amazing children, Jimmie “Jimbo” Moore Parrish, IV and Emma Worth Parrish, his loving parents, Jimmie “J.M.” Moore Parrish, Jr. and Anne Leary Parrish; and his devoted sister, Grey Parrish Tipton and her husband John, along with their children, Chess and John Macon. He also leaves behind a large extended family of cousins, aunts, uncles, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lewis and Mary Grey Leary, and Jimmie M., Sr. and Elizabeth Ann Parrish.

Though his time here was cut far too short, his legacy of love, loyalty, and unwavering kindness will live on in the countless lives he touched. His laughter, his passion, and his ability to make everyone feel special will never be forgotten.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 29th, at 11:00 a.m. in Edenton Baptist Church and will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Koby Strawser and the Rev. Gary Stanley. Friends are invited to visit with the family in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions in his memory be made to the Edenton Aces Athletics, Attn: Terri Dunn, Edenton-Chowan Schools, P.O. Box 206, Edenton, NC 27932, continuing his tradition of helping others just as he always did in life.

Rest easy, Jim. You were, and always will be, everyone’s MVP.
