Jessie Rea Bass Bunch, 95, of 519 Center Hill Road, Tyner, NC, died Tuesday, July 2, 2019 in Vidant Chowan Hospital, Edenton.
Mrs. Bunch was born in Chowan County on March 22, 1924, and was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Evie Pierce Bass. A retired seamstress from the former Don Juan Manufacturing Corporation, she was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church, its WMU, and the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Johnnie Paul Bunch; a daughter, Jo Anne Bunch; a son, Paul Gary Bunch; a grandson-in-law, Les Bass; five sisters, Sabra Sitterson, Helen Mitchell, Nora Hassell, Eunice Bunch, and Lillian Harrell; and by three brothers, Sanford, Wallace, and John Bass.
Surviving are her daughter, Linda B. Jethro and husband, Melvin, of Corapeake; a daughter-in-law, Jane C. Bunch of Tyner; three grandchildren, Neil Jethro (Stacie), Laura Bass, and Amanda Browder (Allen); six great-grandchildren, Alexis, Ian, Amber, Noelle, Jessie, and Noah; and three great-great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Rylee, and Olivia.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Center Hill Baptist Church, and will be conducted by the Revs. Russell Blanchard and Don English. A private burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the fellowship hall of the church immediately following the service, and all other times at the residence.
