Jean Fox White

Jean Carol Fox White, 78, of 145 Dallie White Road, Tyner, NC, and a former longtime resident of Newport News, VA, died Tuesday, August 20, 2024, in her home.

Mrs. White was born in Newport News on September 25, 1945, and was the daughter of the late Clyde L. and Edna Beck Fox. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John William “Bill” White, Jr. in March of 2022.

Formerly employed as a receptionist in an optometrist practice, she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for more than 51 years.

Surviving is her daughter, Stacey White Peterson (husband, Scott) of Tyner; her son, Les White of Yorktown, VA; her sister, Ginny Saulman (husband, Wayne) of Troutman, NC; eight grandchildren, Mallory, Daniel, Dylan, Morgan, Trevor, Ethan, Josie, and Cole; and seven great-grandchildren, Jacob, April, Danny, Blakely, Luke, Evelyn, and Emberly.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 27th, at 1:00 p.m. in Peninsula Memorial Park Cemetery, 12750 Warwick Blvd., Newport News.
