Jean Funk Lunsford

Jean Eleonore Funk Lunsford died January 20, 2021 in Raleigh, NC. An only child, she was born to Gustavus DeLana Funk and May Rose Aderhold Funk September 30, 1928, El Reno, Oklahoma. She was married to Philip John Lunsford for 68 year until his death June 11, 2020.  She is survived by her children: Kathleen Helms (Charles), Rosemary Lunsford (Nelson), Philip Lunsford II (Anne); grandchildren Amelia Blake (Bill), Julie Helms, Mary Walker (Brad), David Caudle, Carrie Barnhart (Thomas), Jeanne Sanders (Alicia), Priscilla Lunsford; great grandchildren Natalie Walker and Elijah Barnhart. She graduated from El Reno High School and the University of Oklahoma with a degree in microbiology.  While attending OU she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. For 69 years she was an active member in the P.E.O. Sisterhood. She was an avid quilter, voracious reader, experienced traveller and committed to others through church and those who blessed her life by being her friend. Most of all she was devoted to and loved by her family.
