Jackie Bunch Ward

   Jacqueline Faye Bunch "Jackie" Ward, 75, of 355 Ryland Road, Tyner, NC, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 11, 2018, from her home where she was surrounded by her family.

   Mrs. Ward was born in Chowan County on November 8, 1943, and was the daughter of the late Otto Emmit Bunch and Novella Winslow Bunch Perry. A homemaker, she was a member of Happy Home Pentecostal Holiness Church, its Young at Heart group, had served as a teacher for Lifeliners and the Beginners Sunday School Class, and as long as her health permitted, she volunteered in the nursery where she especially loved rocking the little babies. In earlier years she had also served as a 4-H leader.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H. Ivey Ward, Jr.; her step-father, James Lawrence Perry; and a brother, Horace McCoy Bunch.

Surviving are her daughter, Debbie Byrum and husband, Johnny; two sons, Ivey Ward, III and Jason Ward, all of Tyner; two sisters, Patricia Parks and husband, Eddie, of Belvidere, and Gail Copeland and husband, Don, of Tyner; a brother, Billy Bunch and wife, Barbara, of Granite City, IL; a sister-in-law, Yvonne Ward of Tyner; and five grandchildren, Kallie Byrum, Gabrielle Bunch and husband, Nick, Chase Ward, Hayden Ward, and Tylor Winslow.

   Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in Happy Home Pentecostal Holiness Church, and will be conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Walter Byrum. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family at the residence.
