Irene Castelli Darrigo

   Irene Marie Castelli Darrigo, 81, of Paradise Road, Edenton, NC, died Saturday, January 29, 2022 in Chowan River Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

   Born in Yonkers, New York on August 28, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Betty McDowell Castelli. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Darrigo, Sr.; and by brothers, Chester Raymond “Chet” Castelli, Sr. and Vinson Castelli.

   A Catholic by faith, she had a cosmetology degree, but spent most of her life enjoying her family as a mother and homemaker.

   Surviving is her son, John Darrigo, Jr.; a sister-in-law, Rhonda Castelli; and other extended family and friends.

   In accordance with her wishes, no services are planned.
