Horace Woodrow "Butch" Venters

   Horace Woodrow “Butch” Venters, 74, of 505 Chambers Ferry Road, Edenton, NC, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020 in Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City.

   Mr. Venters was born in Norfolk, VA on July 23, 1945, and was the son of the late George William and Callie Lee Harden Venters. A supervisor, he had retired from civil service after 36 years of employment.

   Surviving are his wife of nearly 27 years, Geneva Lee Bostic Venters; his four children, Sonja Sanders, Jackie Summerville, Rusty Venters, and Crystal Venters; and a sister, Bonnie Hawkins. Also surviving are Geneva’s children, Dianna Rice and Jack Jenkins. Together Horace and Geneva shared seven grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

   Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 2^nd, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by Wayne Spruill. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery.
