Hiltrud Johanna Aubert

Hiltrud Johanna Aubert, of Hertford, NC, born on July 30th, 1934, in Zurich, Switzerland, passed away peacefully on June 26th, 2024 in Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation in North Carolina.

A devoted mother to her sons, Marc Peter Aubert (wife Janet) and Timothy John Aubert (wife Meghan), she cherished her role as grandmother to both Ethan Aubert and Samantha Aubert. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Bernard Aubert, and cherished granddaughter, Katarina Reilly Aubert.

Hiltrud and her husband Frank were one of the original residents of Albemarle Plantation and lived there for their entire retirement. Hiltrud was an active community member, often partaking in multiple fundraisers and volunteering at her local church and food pantry. She enjoyed participating in social gatherings at Albemarle Plantation, enjoyed her Sunday brunch and Chocolate Martinis, and was known for hosting social events in her home that would often feature her homemade scones or chocolate roll.

Before her retirement, Hiltrud had a fulfilling career as a teacher to children with special needs. In addition, she was an active member of her local church, Larchmont Avenue Church, often volunteering for many of their causes. Her children describe her as very much involved in their schooling, sports, and fundraising activities.

 She will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be announced at a later time.
